The UK government has introduced a new law by 10 June 2024 that requires all cats over 20 weeks old to be microchipped. This new law is intended to help reunite lost cats with their owners and reduce the number of cats entering shelters. As a cat rescue, we strongly recommend that all cat owners comply with the law and have their cats microchipped. Those who fail to comply may be fined up to £500. We are here to help you with any questions you have regarding the microchipping process.

Follow the adventure of Picklerick our mascot!

Picklerick was abandoned as a six week old kitten. The CWRS shelter rescued him and even though he has no vision he roams freely returning to CWRS for love (and dinner!) each day.  He is the bravest most resilient cat so follow his adventures in Amesbury on his blog. He writes it himself honestly!

Our Mission statement.

 

Cat Watch’s Mission is to provide sensitive care and rehoming for the unowned cats of the locality – abandoned, lost, and street cats. Where possible we also attempt to find the owner and cover a 30 mile radius from Amesbury near Salisbury, in Wiltshire and South Hants.
